The Alpine Valley Music Theatre is located in East Troy Wisconsin. It is a 50,000 capacity amphitheatre that was built in 1977. This Theatre has 9,500 seat pavilion and a sprawling lawn for general admission tickets. Alpine Valley is generally considered the Milwaukee stop on major tours and the Chicago stop when the act doesn't perform in Illinois. Until 1993 it was the largest amphitheater in the United States. Many large artists have performed at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre including: - The Grateful Dead-played at Alpine Valley 20 times, their album Dick's Picks Volume 32 was recorded here
