Allen Wade Barbre was born June 22, 1984 in Neosho, Missouri. He started his football career as an offensive tackle at Missouri Southern State University. Although Missouri Southern State is a small school, Allen Barbre saw lots of game time and developed his skills as a tackle. During the 2006 season Allen Barbre was named a consensus All-Region, All-MIAA and All-American. He ended the 2006 season for Missouri Southern State University with a career total of 94 tackles and excellent performances on the punt-coverage unite. With good guidance from the coaching staff at Missouri Southern State University, Allen Wade entered into the 2007 NFL draft and was selected in the fourth round, the highest draft pick ever to come out of Missouri Southern State.
In his Rookie 2007 season , Allen Barbre played in seven games as an active member of the Green Bay Packers roster. He also saw game time in both of the post-season games the Green Bay Packers saw that season. His first professional football game was against the San Diego 49ers on September 23, Allen Barbre played on the special teams. During the 2007 Green Bay Packers schedule, Allen Barbre also saw notable game time in the match-ups against the Denver Broncos, the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions.
In his second season with the Green Bay Packers, Allen Barbre saw even more game time and started to distinguish himself as a force to be reckoned with on the special teams. Allen Barbre saw game time in 8 match-ups most of which he was on the special teams. Some notable games of Allen Barbre in the 2008 season were the match-up against the Detroit Lions where he was a crucial member of the special teams going in at left guard. He also played against Atlanta stepping up when Chad Clifton a Green Bay Packers veteran was injured late in the game. In the December 28 game against Detroit he contributed to the season-high offensive rushing yard record when the Green Bay Packers posted 211 yards. He sustained an ankle injury in the game and did not return to active play.
Green Bay Packers critics are saying the Allen Barbre is the heir apparent to Chad Clifton who will be going on over a decade of playing with the Green Bay Packers at left tackle.
