Brandon Dante Underwood was born June 24, 1986 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Brandon Underwood started his football career in high school at Hamilton Public High School in Hamilton, Ohio near Cincinnati. At Hamilton High School he was 13th best overall prospect in the state by The Ohio Football Recruiting News. In his junior and senior years of high school he pulled down over 100 tackles and was a varsity athlete.
After high school Brandon went to Ohio State University where he spent the 2004 season red shirted. In 2005 he was ready to play and as the new guy on the team saw game time in the season opener against Miami of Ohio, he pulled down 3 solid tackles before injuring his shoulder and having to sit out the rest of the season. In 2006 after battling back from shoulder rehab he saw limited game time in the last 8 games of Ohio State’s season.
For the 2007 football season, Brandon Underwood transferred to Cincinnati but had to sit out a season due to NCAA transfer regulations. Many fans of Brandon Underwood would say that his true college career started in 2008, the first time in several seasons he consistently saw the field. He played in all 14 games and was named first team All-Big-East at the end of the season. In 14 games he pulled down 66 tackles and individually had intercepted 4 passes and led the team with fumble recoveries. The last game of his college career was against Virginia Tech on January 1 when he played in the FedEx Orange Bowl.
In the 2009 NFL draft he was taken with a selection originally obtained from the New Orleans Saints on the draft-day trade. Brandon Underwood is excited to no longer be a rookie on the Green Bay Packers roster and Packers fans can look forward to his performance as a corner back this 2011 NFL season .
