Team Member Information
Breno Giacomini was born September 27, 1985 in Malden, Massachusetts and although his name sounds Italian, both of his parents are actually from Brazil and Breno is fluent in Portuguese. Breno Giacomini went to high school at Malden High School in his hometown in Massachusetts, he played high school football for his first two years of school but during his junior year decided to concentrate on basketball and eventually went on to be the second in the league in scoring with an average of 21 points per game. Before graduating, one of his football coaches from Malden convinced him to pursue football in college.
After graduation he went to Louisville to play college football. When he got there Breno Giacomini reported as a defensive player but the coaches were impressed with his speed and catching ability so they put him in as a tight end for his first two seasons. Then in 2006 when he reported to camp he had grown to 6’7” 303 pounds, leaving the coaches no choice but to put him in at offensive line…again Breno Giacomini shined. As a senior he allowed only 4 sacks and 2 pressures on 491 pass plays, he also earned the 2007 second team All-Big-East Conference honors.
Breno Giacomini went to the 2008 NFL draft optimistically and was selected to the Green Bay Packers roster in the 5th round as the 23rd offensive lineman selected overall. Breno Giacomini saw limited game time in 2008, and was listed as inactive for the final 14 games of the season. He was listed as active against the Minnesota Vikings but did not play, he made his NFL debut against Detroit the following week and played on the special teams. Breno Giacomini is expected to make a much bigger impact this season as he settles into his spot on the Green Bay Packers roster.
