Brian Brohm was born in Louisville, Kentucky on September 23, 1985. He played football for the Trinity Shamrocks in high school. He had 10,579 passing yards and 119 touchdowns during his career there. Brian Brohm led the Shamrocks to the 4-A state title in 2001, 2002, and 2003. Brian Brohm was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated on November 18, 2002, while he was a junior in high school. Brohm was named 2003 Kentucky Mr. Football and was the Gatorade Player of the Year the same year. Brian Brohm was named one of the top five quarterbacks in America by rivals.com and was selected to participate in the 2004 U.S. Army All-American Bowl game in San Antonio, Texas.
Although Brian Brohm had scholarship offers from the University of Kentucky, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Alabama, Nebraska, Purdue, Illinois and others he decided to attend his Hometown University of Louisville. His first season Brian Brohm was named Conference USA Freshman of the Year even though he didn’t start one game. Brohm completed 66 of 98 passes for 819 yards and six touchdowns. Brian Brohm followed in the footsteps of father, Oscar Brohm, and brother, Jeff Brohm, by becoming a starting quarterback at the University of Louisville in 2005. That year he passed for 2,883 yards and 19 touchdowns before suffering a season ending knee injury. He returned as starting quarterback in Louisville’s October 14, 2006 victory against Cincinnati. In the 2007 Orange Bowl, Brian Brohm earned MVP honors by leading Louisville to it’s first-ever BCS victory.
Brian Brohm completed 24 of 34 passes for 311 yards, the third highest total in Orange Bowl history. Rivals.com named Brian Brohm as one of the top 10 quarterbacks going into the 2007 season. In 2007 Brohm completed 308 of 473 passes for 4,024 yards and 30 touchdowns. Brian Brohm announced on January 15, 2007 that he would be returning to the University of Louisville for his senior year.
Brian Brohm was Drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft, 56th overall. He is currently the Green Bay Packers number 3 quarterback. His first pass in the NFL (preseason) was an interception. The Green Bay Packer quarterback position is always in the spotlight and you can bet Brian Brohm will be as well.
