Cyril Chinenye Obiozor was born September 26, 1986 in Houston, Texas. Cyril Obiozor got his start in football at Pearland High School as a tight end, wide receiver and defensive end. His ability to play two way football made him a strong recruit and helped him get noticed by several scouts.

Cyril Obiozor decided to pursue NCAA football at Texas A&M with the Aggies football program. He took a freshman redshirt for the 2004 season allowing him to grow as a player and protect his eligibility for seasons where he would see game time. In 2005 Cyril Obiozor appeared in 10 games for the first time as an Aggie and pulled down 13 tackles and a pass-breakup. Then in 2006 after an impressive start to his sophomore he earned a starting spot for the last 3 games of the season, a roster position that he never relinquished for the remainder of his college football career. During his junior season with the Aggies he started all 13 games and led the team in sacks and tackles for loss. In his last season he led the Aggies with a career high 45 tackles he also earned honorable mention for All Big 12 from the Associated Press.
