JULY 29, 2011 - DARYN COLLEDGE SIGNED FIVE YEAR CONTRACT WITH ARIZONA CARDINALS
Daryn Wayne Colledge was born in Fairbanks Alaska. He was a first-team all-state defensive lineman at North Pole High School. Colledge also received honorable mention all-state recognition as an offensive lineman and punter his senior year. As a senior he earned all-conference honors on both offense and defense.
Daryn Colledge played college football at Boise State University. As a freshman he was a third-team Freshman All-America selection of the Sporting News. He was a four-year starter and a three-time All-Western Athletic Conference selection for the Broncos. He earned first-team honors in 2004 and 2005 after receiving second-team recognition in 2003. Colledge holds the school record in consecutive games played and started. Daryn is considered the best offensive lineman in Boise State University history. Three times Daryn Colledge was named as the school’s ‘Outstanding Offensive Lineman’. He was also chosen as the conference’s top offensive lineman and the fifth best player overall in the league.
Daryn Colledge was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2006 NFL. He is the highest player ever drafted from the state of Alaska. Colledge played in all 16 games during his rookie season. He was on the field for 1,060 offensive plays which was 3rd on the team. Green Bay Packers coach McCarthy named Daryn as the team’s most improved player. He was also named to the prestigious Pro Football Weekly/Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team. During the 2007 season Daryn Colledge played in 13 games at left guard.
