JaRon Jacob Harris was born May 6th 1986 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. JaRon’s Ron father was a football player for the University of Colorado who went on to play in preseason games for the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings before going onto to play in the Canadian football league. JaRon Harris began his football career at Washington High School in Sioux Falls, playing just one season of high school football. He was named All-City and honorable mention All-Conference by making 15 catches for 293 yards as a wide receiver and as a cornerback he made 32 tackles and 3 interceptions.
After graduation, JaRon Jacob Harris went to South Dakota State University where he played football and ran track. He took a redshirt his freshman football season and made his NCAA debut in 2005. In the first reception of his college career, JaRon Harris made a 50 yard touchdown a moment that is still in the top of his football memories! He returned 10 kickoffs for 333 yards, including an amazing 86 yard touchdown on an opening kickoff against Southern Utah. In his sophomore season, JaRon Harris was ranked second on the team with receptions pulling in 39 for 531 yards and 4 touchdowns. In 2007 JaRon Harris was a Second Team All-Great West Conference selection as a junior after recording 40 catches for 664 yards. In his senior season he set his career highs for catches (70), yards (996), and touchdowns (11). He also helped lead the SDSU Jackrabbits to a 7-5 record.
On May 1, 2009 JaRon Harris was signed to the Green Bay Packers roster as a non-drafted free agent. JaRon Harris is looking forward to pulling on his Green Bay Packers jersey and playing against rivals the Minnesota Vikings!
