James Jones
James DeAndre Jones was born in San Jose, California on March 31, 1984. Jones attended Gunderson High School where he lettered in basketball, track and football. As a senior he was named MVP as a quarterback. As a senior at San Jose State James Jones caught 70 passes for 893 yards and 10 touchdowns. James was named offensive MVP of the inaugural New Mexico Bowl because he caught 6 passes for 106 yards and made two touchdowns. After the New Mexico Bowl, James Jones was invited to the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. James Jones tied the NFL combine record for bench presses by a wide receiver with 22 reps of 225 pounds. Jones started in the first Green Bay Packers game of the 2007 season. He caught 4 passes for 29 yards. Jones scored his first-ever professional touchdown vs. the Minnesota Vikings at the Metrodome. James Jones was named Diet Pepsi 2007 Rookie of the Week for games played on October 28-29 against the Denver Broncos. Jones finished the year with 47 receptions and 676 yards. He also had two touchdown receptions. Due to injuries James Jones didn’t have a great 2008 Packer season.
