Johnny Ray Jolly was born in Houston, Texas on February 21, 1983. When Jolly was younger he attended Forest Brook High School. There he was a three time All-District defensive lineman.
Johnny Jolly went to Texas A&M University for college. He was a starting defensive tackle after his amazing 2003 sophomore year. During his sophomore year Jolly made 95 tackles, two sacks and eight pass deflections. Johnny was awarded Big 12 all-conference honors for his final two seasons.
Johnny Jolly was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in round six of the 2006 NFL Draft. He got most of his playing time during the last four games of his first season due to injuries of other Green Bay Packer players. During Jolly’s second season he was promoted to starter in place of Corey Williams. Johnny Jolly was injured in 2007 before a game against the Dallas Cowboys. He missed the remainder of the season. He had huge promise to come back full force for the 2008 season.
On July 8, 2008, Houston police arrested Jolly for possession of at least 200 grams of codeine. His court date kept getting moved but he had the option to be free with a $10,000 bail. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
