Remarkably, Jordy Nelson was a walk-on to the team back in 2003 and went on to wow the coaches and Kansas State Wildcats football fans. Jordy Nelson ended his college football career ranked second in Kansas State Wildcats football history for receptions (206) and reception yards (2,822). The player who still holds the school record, Lockett, went on to be drafted in second round back in 1997. Therefore, people were certain Jordy Nelson was also ready for that caliber of football action.
But to back-up yet again, Jordy Nelson was a player of the year who often quarterbacked his high school football team back in Kansas. Jordy Nelson made 62% of his throws for 1,029 yards and eight touchdowns during his senior year. Additionally, Jordy Nelson rushed for 1,572 yards and an impressive 25 touchdowns.
