AUGUST 10, 2010 - JOSH BELL PLACED ON INJURED RESERVE.
Josh Bell was acquired by the Green Bay Packers football team in November 2009 to fill in for injured Al Harris. Josh Bell played in 4 games with the Green Bay Packers that winter, seeing action on special teams.
Josh Bell had previously been taken by the Green Bay Packers in 2009, though released in the preseason following a knee injury. Josh Bell started his NFL career in 2008 with the Denver Broncos. Played nine games for Denver in 2008, with five starts in place of an injured Champ Bailey. Though originally nondrafted and a free agent, Josh Bell was signed with San Diego, released after training camp, and went to Denver's practice team. Bell was once again signed by the Green Bay Packers on November 23, 2009 and then was placed on Injured Reserve the following season.
Prior to his 2008 entry in the NFL, Josh Bell played for Baylor (and majored in chemistry). At Baylor, Josh Bell competed in 45 games over the course of his career and worked his way up to 12 starts. He made 34 assisted and 60 unassisted tackles; had 12 defended passes; made 1 forced fumble and recovered a fumble.
Josh Bell got his start at the football-focused Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas. He was a first-team all-district selection.
