Marshall Newhouse was born into a football-focused family in Dallas, Texas. For example, Marshall Newhouse's father was a running back for the University of Houston and got to play in three Cotton Bowls. Then we have a host of Marshall Newhouse's cousins who played college or even NFL football. Marshall Newhouse's cousin, Robert Newhouse, competed as a fullback for a whopping 12 seasons on the Dallas Cowboys team. And Marshall Newhouse's other cousins played college football at Baylor and Rice.
In high school, Marshall Newhouse attended Lake Highlands High and received
Offensive Line MVP and Most Outstanding Offensive Blocker award during his senior year. Marshall Newhouse not only lettered twice in football, but also got the varsity letters in track and field, weightlifting and wrestling.
Marshall Newhouse next enrolled in Baylor. As a true freshman, Marshall Newhouse saw playing time in
13 games and totaled 10 knockdown blocks. In 2007, Marshall Newhouse started all 13 Baylor games as left tackle. He also received honorable mention All-MWC honors.
In his junior and senior seasons, Marshall Newhouse was a fixture on the Baylor offensive line. He earned many awards for his work, including second and first team honors and team MVP.
Marshall Newhouse was picked in the 5th round of the draft by the Green Bay Packers. After not seeing any play time, Newhouse was placed on the injured reserve as a rookie.
