More Info
Nicholas Collins was born on August 16, 1983. He attended Dixie County High School in Cross City, Florida. During high school Nick Collins lettered twice as a quarterback, running back, and defensive back. He received first-team all-conference honors and was named team MVP as a senior.

Nick Collins attended Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida. Collins was forced to sit out the entirety of his freshman season in 2001 for failing to have a minimum SAT score of 700, a minimum ACT score of 17, and a minimum of GPA of 2.0. In 2002 Nic Collins was a reserve linebacker. He played in all thirteen games of the season. Nick Collins finished the season with 35 tackles, one interception, five defended passes, one fumble recovery and eight kickoff returns for 181 yards. Nick Collins became a full-time starter at free safety in 2003. He led the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in interceptions with six and finished third in the conference in passes defended with 13. He was an All-Conference selection for the season. As a senior in 2004 Nick Collins was an Associated Press third-team Division 1-AA All-American selection and first-team All-MEAC honors at the free safety position. He once again led the conference with six interceptions and led his team in solo tackles with 34 and passes defended with 13.

Nick Collins was selected in the second round, 51st pick overall, in the 2005 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. Draft experts said Collins was “a developmental prospect who is very athletic but very raw.” In the 2005 season Collins took over the free safety position which was held by Darren Sharper who left for the Minnesota Vikings. Collins had his first interception in a Monday night football game against the Minnesota Vikings on November 21. During the 2005 season he had 84 tackles, one interception, two forced fumbles and seven passes defended. During the 2006 season Nick Collins had 80 tackles, 15 assists, three interceptions and two forced fumbles. In the 2007 season, despite missing three games due to an injury, Collins had 46 tackles and 5 passes defended. Collins earned a spot in the Pro Bowl in three consecutive Pro Bowls (2008-10) and continued his outstanding performance into 2011 with a touchdown during Super Bowl XLV.

Nick Collins is back this 2011 NFL season more ready than ever to fight for the Packers chance at another Super Bowl. Don't miss history in the making so buy your Green Bay Packers tickets today!
