Ronald Talley Jr. was born February 21, 1986 in Detroit, Michigan. Ronald Talley started playing football at Renaissance High School in Detroit as a freshman. By his senior year he was a highly sought after recruit and was ranked the 11th best player in the Midwest by the Detroit Free Press. He was named to the Division 4 All-State team after making 80 tackles and 5 sacks as a senior.
After high school Ronald Talley went to the University of Notre Dame where he took a redshirt for the 2004 season. In his debut season with the Fighting Irish, he played in 11 games making 23 tackles. Ronald Talley started his sophomore season at Notre Dame, appearing in 6 games but in a mutual decision with coaches Ronald Talley left mid-season and transferred to Delaware. He jumped into the Delaware football program effortlessly and began participating in spring workouts in 2007. In his first season as a Blue Hen he contributed to the first Delaware team to go to the FCS National Championship. In his senior season with the Blue Hens, he started 10 of 11 games and posted 46 tackles.
After his college career, Ronald Talley was signed by the Green Bay Packers on May 1, 2009 as a no drafted free agent.
