Sam Shields graduated from Booker High in Sarasota, Florida--his home state. Sam Shields was considered by Rivals.com to be the seventeenth best wide receiver in the U.S. while ESPN.com considered Sam Shields it be ninth. Sam Shields earned these high marks partially because of his high 67 passes caught which totaled 1,201 yards and 22 touchdowns--just during his senior year! That same season, Sam Shield's team played in the Class 3A state championship game.

Next up, Sam Shields headed to Miami in Florida to play at the collegiate level. Sam Shields was a strong player from the start. He hauled in a 78-yard touchdown pass to win a bowl game and set the team record for longest reception in the season. Sam Shields was picked for the 2006 Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Football Team.

Sam Shields was a wide receiver for his first three seasons with the Miami Hurricanes but by his senior year, he switched to cornerback and had a natural gift for that role.

Sam Shields was signed to the Green Bay Packers as a nondrafted free agent in April 2010. During his rookie season, Shields played in 14 of 16 regular season games and four playoff games, including Super Bowl XLV. Sam Shields was a key player in the 2011 NFC Championship game that sent the Packers to the Super Bowl.

Sam Shields is back this season ready to continue his outstanding performance on the football field. Buy your Green Bay football tickets to join the Packers at Lambeau Field for the 2011 NFL season!
