Scott Darvin Wells was born in Spring Hill, Tennessee on January 17, 1981. During his freshman and sophomore years of high school Scott Wells went to Brookville Area High School. He transferred his junior year to Brentwood Academy in Tennessee. Scott Wells played offensive guard, defensive end and nose tackle. He was a PrepStar and CNN/Sports Illustrated All America selection. Scott also earned the Division II Class A ‘Mr. Football’ in 1998.

Scott Wells played college football for the University of Tennessee. Wells was a four year letter winner at U of T from 2000-2003.

During the 2004 NFL draft Scott Wells was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round. On September 5th 2004, Scott was waived by the Green Bay Packers but was signed to their practice squad two days later. On October 2nd, 2004, Wells was promoted to the active Packers roster when Mike Flanagan was put on injured reserve. Scott Wells palyed his first NFL regular season game on November 21st, 2004. Scott Wells signed a five year contract extension with the Packers in 2006, worth $15 million.
