Shawn Gore was signed by the Green Bay Packers in May 2010 as a nondrafted free agent.

Shawn Gore competed for Bishop's University in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. Up north at Bishop's Shawn Gore competed in 29 games with 28 starts over the course of his career on the team. Shawn Gore had 72 receptions for 1,141 yards and seven touchdowns over the course of his career. Shawn Gore was a slotback as a senior. Also that year, Shawn Gore was top on the team with 32 catches for 496 yards and five touchdowns. And in what he described as his proudest athletic moment, Shawn Gore was called the Bishop’s University Male Athlete of the Year.

Prior to college, Shawn Gore transferred to Newtonbrook Secondary School in Toronto just for his senior year because his former high school did not have a football squad. Shawn Gore was recognized as team MVP. He was also a Toronto Star Greater Toronto Area All-Star Team member.
