Spencer Rhett Havner was born February 2, 1983 in Sacramento, California. Spencer Havner started his football career in high school where he played both linebacker and tight end for Nevada Union High School in Grass Valley, California. Over his four years at Nevada Union he made 232 tackles, 18 sacks and 12 interceptions. In his senior year, as a team leader he took Nevada Union to a 12-1 record and a trip to the city title game. After the season ended Spencer Havner was named All-State and First Team All-CAL.

After graduation, Spencer Havner went to the UCLA to play football for the Bruins. He sat out his true freshman year and began playing for the Bruins in the 2002 season. As a redshirted freshman Spencer Havner started all 12 games and was named First Team Freshman All American. In his second season with the Bruins, Spencer Havner started 12 of 13 games and pulled down 82 tackles. In 2004 his first season as an upperclassman, Spencer Havner was named All-American by several different publications. He posted 125 tackles on the season including a career high game of 17 solo tackles. Spencer Havner entered the 2006 NFL draft as a strong prospect and was signed to the Washington Redskins as a no drafted free agent in May. He was waived before the final roster cut down and was signed by the Green Bay Packers to their practice squad in the fall of 2006 where he remained for the rest of the season. In 2007 he spent the off season and the training camp with the Green Bay Packers roster but was waived right before the last cut down and was resigned to the practice squad. In December of 2008 after two years of being waived and sent to the practice squad, Spencer Havner got his break and was called up to the active Green Bay Packers roster where he played in the final four games of the season.

Spencer Havner is looking forward to playing this season and is hoping to see more of the active roster and less of the practice squad. Buy Green Bay Packers tickets today and watch as Spencer and the rest of the Packers players take on the NFL!
